The Alchemist of Silk

Afroditi Hera is the founder and creative director of the fashion brand Afroditi Hera, an international label that has become synonymous with luxury resortwear aesthetics, handmade fabrics, and exclusive hand-painted prints.

With a background in Business Administration, she pursued a creative path that began with the design of leather garments and evolved into a complete design universe, where the art of fabric forms the core of creation. All of the brand's fabrics are exclusively designed by her, reflecting a strong artistic identity and a deep connection with color and form.

Her collections are renowned for their versatile kaftans—creations that express freedom, femininity, and adaptability. The fabrics are airy, featuring both sheer and opaque variations, and are crafted from 100% handmade, loom-woven silk, as well as refined blends of silk with viscose and recycled polyester. These pieces can be styled in multiple ways, transforming the very same garment from a relaxed resort look into an elegant prêt-à-porter dress.

In 2018, she represented Cyprus at the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange, an international sustainable fashion initiative held under the auspices of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The collection was presented during London Fashion Week and exhibited at Buckingham Palace, highlighting the craftsmanship and creativity of designers from Commonwealth countries.

A significant milestone in her career is her collaboration with L’Oréal Professionnel Paris, which involved international shows and presentations in various countries around the world, as well as designing the anniversary collection celebrating 100 years of L’Oréal Professionnel.

Today, Afroditi Hera's creations are available internationally through selected boutiques and luxury partners across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, appealing to women who seek designs characterized by authenticity, distinctiveness, and timeless value.
